With the highly anticipated UFO Congressional hearing taking place tomorrow, I figured I’d write a short (hopefully) piece adding on from my last article on Dr. James T. Ryder.
I would also like to thank fellow UFO researcher BlockedEpistemology for the advice and feedback I received regarding this post! Please check out their work if you haven’t already, it’s good stuff.
The Bombshell
Christopher Sharp from the Liberation Times recently published an article in which he revealed the name of the former CIA Science and Technology Director who, during the time of AAWSAP, blocked the UFO material transfer from Lockheed Martin to Bigelow Aerospace. The former director’s name you ask? Glenn Gaffney.

Why is this important?
Because Sharp just gave us another piece of the puzzle. A big one. It’s becoming evidently clear that the real objective of AAWSAP was to get its hands on UFO material, perhaps a whole craft. Quoting my first article, I write:
“If you’ve been observant throughout the last couple of years, I’m sure you’ve noticed that newer bits of information have been revealed that add more to the story of AAWSAP.”
I then go on to write my best interpretation of the story we’ve been hearing as seen here:
Now we can add Gaffney’s name to the list.
Dr. James T. Ryder, the Lockheed VP, offered the [UFO] material to AAWSAP but was blocked by Glenn Gaffney.
Better yet, Sharp also provides us with Ryder’s reasoning for initiating talks with AAWSAP in the first place. Sharp states:
“The alleged materials are believed to have been recovered since the 1950s. Liberation Times understands that, due to recruitment challenges in engineering, James Ryder, Vice President of Lockheed Martin Space Systems at the time, proposed transferring these materials to an external organization to drive new breakthroughs.”
Due to the nature of the ‘Legacy Program’ and its modus operandi, recruiting top scientists to work on such material is no easy feat. New minds were needed to help make some progress–if possible-and Ryder clearly wasn’t making much.
Of course, it’s simply Sharp’s understanding of why Ryder sought to transfer the material. So at best, one can call it an inference and not a solid confirmation.
There’s Always More
But what if we had even more information to support this inference?
Enter Dr. Eric Davis.
Davis, during an interview with Alejandro Rojas (around the 1hr and 23 min mark) in 2019, states:
“So, here's the thing that you should know is that the crash retrieval program is very small program. It is not a massive, huge government infrastructure. It's a very poorly funded program, and it hasn't actually, probably hasn't had any money for a while. I do know that the program was terminated in 1989 for a lack of progress in reverse engineering. Anything that they had, any of the hardware that they had, and they'll resurrect it every maybe so often, so many years go by and they'll try it again and they just don't succeed. The compartmentalization is a killer. Scientists cannot communicate with other scientists to get help.”
He does not mention any specific names of contractors or individuals, so it doesn’t tell us anything about Ryder and Lockheed. But, as with anything, patience is virtue.
The Dots Connect
A couple of months ago, on the 28th of August, Eric Davis made an interesting comment in a Facebook UFO group called ‘The UFO Phenomena–A Serious Look’ of which he was formerly a part of. In fact, it was some of his last comments before he willingly left the group.
But before explaining more, I must make an important note. This Facebook UFO group has a rule in which screenshots taken of the group’s posts or comments cannot be reposted outside of the group. For me to post the entire screenshot, I would have to gain permission from the original author–Eric Davis–and one of the group’s moderators (if I remember correctly, but I could be wrong). I have not sought the permission of Davis, but I can, however, quote him in general terms and not be in violation of the group’s rules. I will reach out to Davis for permission and will update this article as necessary.
The context of the entire post was this: Someone posted a screenshot of Luis Elizondo’s book ‘Imminent’ in which he states the names of contractors and companies that he believes may house or have housed UFO materials and/or biological samples. From my personal copy of Elizondo’s book, you can see what the original screenshot consisted of:
In response to this, Davis goes on to say that Lockheed conducted UFO work until the year 1989. But he also doesn’t specify when they started.
And what does this line up with? The statements that he gave in the interview with Alejandro Rojas in 2019 that I quote above (the bolded one, to be specific). And following this train of thought, who worked on UFO material at Lockheed? James Ryder did.
So now we have another piece of the puzzle, or at least, more information to corroborate Sharp’s statement. Let’s put it all together and connect the dots, shall we?
Dr. James T. Ryder, the Lockheed VP, who stopped working on UFO material in 1989 because of a lack of progress in reverse-engineering and scientist recruitment, went on to offer the UFO material to AAWSAP but was blocked by Glenn Gaffney, Director for Science and Technology at the CIA.
But wait, how would the transfer have worked though?
You might remember the now shutdown proposal for the ‘Kona Blue’ program to be housed under the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). If you read the entire proposal, it sounds like the AAWSAP group was attempting to create their own UFO Crash Retrieval and Reverse-Engineering Program. This was a last ditch effort to convince the gatekeepers that they were serious about studying the material they wanted. It’s as if they somehow got the administrative blueprint from the actual ‘Legacy Program’ and wrote in their own words. Not bad.
Conclusion
With the benefit of hindsight, it’s clear that Ryder was in favor of bringing on new scientists to work on the UFO material he had control over. In fact, I’d go so far as to say that, were Ryder alive, he probably would have been one of the 40 witnesses David Grusch interviewed during his time at the UAP Task Force. But that’s just me.
On the other hand, we have Gaffney. A man with the knowledge and power to decide who and who doesn’t get access to exotic UFO material. Material that could change the future of humanity. A man willing to obfuscate that future from us because of whatever reason he may come up with. All to be sealed with a stroke of a pen.
Both of these men fought a battle between their morals. Their UFO morals, to be exact. Thanks to Sharp, we now know who had the last laugh, and who keeps on winning.
If AAWSAP couldn’t convince the gatekeepers, God, or the phenomena (take your pick), only knows what will.
Interesting Notes
During a recent appearance on UFO Historian Richard Dolan’s YouTube channel, Sharp mentioned (between minutes 22:52 and 23:44) that there were two individuals, from Lockheed Martin, who wanted to transfer UFO material to AAWSAP. He names Ryder, of course, but he mentions the other person, whom he says is still alive.
No hints, no clues, just that they’re alive. Finding this person will be very difficult, unless it just happens to be one of the Lockheed VP’s Tom DeLonge knows. Steve Justice or Eric Schrock, perhaps?

I would take a guess at the still living Lockheed Exec being Rob Weiss who at the time was vice president and general manager of Lockheed Martin's Skunk Works. The reason I theorise this is because Rob Weiss is specifically mentioned in the leaked Podesta Emails on WikiLeaks as being the person whom Tom DeLonge was in contact with.
